Essential Tips For Your First Time Renting A Party Bus

Renting a party bus is a fun and unique way to get yourself and all of your friends from Point A to Point B. It can be a great choice for bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, and other big events. If this is your first time renting a party bus, though, there are a few essential tips you should follow.

Take a count of attendees before you rent a bus.

Party buses do come in various sizes. There are smaller buses that fit closer to 16 passengers, and larger ones that might fit as many as 32. It's okay to have extra space, but you don't want everyone to be cramped. So do at least a cursory count of attendees before you book your party bus. Even if the count changes a bit, you will at least have a pretty good idea of what size you need. (And size up if you have any doubts!)

Build extra time into your schedule.

When the bus arrives, it will take a few minutes for everyone to climb on-board and listen to the driver's instructions. It may also take the driver a little longer to park the bus at your destination than it would take to park a smaller car. As such, to avoid being late, you should build plenty of extra time into your schedule. For instance, if you need to be at the theater at 7:00 for a 7:30 show, and you're 30 minutes away, play it safe by scheduling the party bus to pick you up at 6:00. This gives you an extra 30 minutes of leeway to play with.

Plan on tipping the driver.

It is customary to tip the party bus driver at the end of the night. Assuming you get good service, you should plan to tip about 10% of the cost of the service. So if you pay $200 to rent the bus, leave a $20 tip. Plan on tipping a little more if your driver has to make multiple stops, if you have a really loud crew, or if you end up going late and keeping the bus for another hour. To keep costs manageable, you may just want to ask each person in your group to bring an extra $2 or $3 as a tip.

If you follow the tips above, you should have a great time renting a party bus for the first time. Party on!
